Francois Blom, CEO
CA(SA), MCom Fin Man, Registered Assessor, PDA Analyst

Francois qualified as a CA(SA) after completing a training contract with PWC. After qualifying he went on secondment to Vancouver. Upon returning to South Africa, he joined the SAB as a financial planner. Apart from his financial responsibilities he was also involved in recruitment, talent management and development, HR policies and resource optimisation. He then became the financial manager of the MSA group where he was responsible for the entire finance function.

 

After leaving the MSA group, Francois pursued his passion for learning, financial management and developing others by joining the University of Pretoria where he lectured Financial Management and completed his Masters degree. During this time Francois also specialised in behavioural assessments and qualified as a PDA Analyst. Francois recently joined Atcor on a full time basis where he is involved with course development, simulations, assessments, skills audits, specialised training around B-BBEE and interview skills and finance restructurings.

Megan Jubber, Facilitator
CA(SA), Registered Assessor

Megan is a qualified CA(SA) and is a registered Assessor with SAICA. From 2005, she has been involved in every aspect of developing Chartered Accountants in South Africa, commencing with her own qualification that placed her in the Top 10 of CA(SA) for her qualifying year. The past four years has seen Megan’s passion flourish in preparing CA trainees to obtain competencies as required by SAICA.

 

Megan has facilitated short courses that have included teaching financial skills for non-financial managers, and sharing high-level Excel skills with financial staff. She has developed material for and delivered simulations for all of SAICA’s competencies, including the pervasive skills. Megan has also lectured the Auditing Elective of the AAT qualification, and she is a presenter of SAICA’s Assessor Training Course.

Sandra Blom, Director
CA(SA), Registered Assessor

Sandra is a qualified accountant with twelve years’ work experience in the SAICA CA Training Programme, and nine years’ work experience as a facilitator and trainer of various SAICA accredited programmes. Sandra’s love for the development of the CA profession comes from her management and client relationship experience, where she realised that skills transfer and genuine coaching of the future generation is the only way to sustain the quality of the CA qualification in the workplace. She previously articled at PricewaterhouseCoopers, and holds BCom, BCom Hons and CA(SA) qualifications.

 

Sandra’s workshops help you understand the intricacies of the SAICA programmes, and she helps you to develop not only the required skills, but also elevates your soft skills so that you’re a well-rounded leader in the workplace.

Deepa Daya

CA(SA), Registered Assessor, PDA Analyst

Deepa qualified as a CA(SA) after completing her TOPP articles with Ernst and Young Advisory, working predominantly in Corporate Finance, Risk Advisory and Taxation. She has worked as an Employee Benefits Consultant at Alexander Forbes, an Operations Manager at South African Breweries and a Partner specialising in Risk and Financial Products at Citadel. Deepa’s operational responsibilities have also included Financial Project Management, Governance, Talent Management, Inventory Management and Strategy. Deepa is qualified as a PDA analyst and presents simulations for CA trainees.

Nadine Knight, Administration Manager

Nadine is completely dedicated, and passionate about providing excellent service. Her loyalty, versatility and reliability have proven invaluable, not only to client service, but also in her continued support to colleagues. Coupled with her attention to detail, excellent planning, organizing and time management skills, she has become the go-to person. 


With the knowledge she has gained over the past 18 years through practical application, project management, Excel, Pastel and data base training, solving problems, as well as managing and developing others, Nadine is an integral part of our team.


She is currently our Administration Manager.

Deepa is certified in brain-based coaching and has qualified as a PDA analyst. Deepa has delivered simulations and coaching interventions for CA trainees. Deepa is based in Cape Town.

Kim Whitehorn
CA(SA), Facilitator

Kim is a qualified CA(SA) and completed her articles at Deloitte in 2017. After a brief time in corporate, Kim followed her passion for education by joining the lecturing team at Monash South Africa (now IIE MSA) in 2018, where she taught Accounting, Tax and Auditing at CTA level. She moved to the University of Pretoria in 2021 to lecture Auditing to CTA students, and joined the Atcor team in April 2022. Kim is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Financial Reporting, Analysis and Governance, with a focus on communication skills, which are becoming increasingly important for the CA of the future. Kim is motivated by seeing people flourishing and making a difference, and it is this that drives her to build up young CA's.

Ettienne van der Merwe
CA(SA), Registered Assessor

Ettienne qualified as a CA(SA) after completing his articles at RSM Betty & Dickson (Tshwane). He was then appointed as a manager at TAG Incorporated, working directly with various partners for 4 years, after which he was contracted as the Group Financial Manager for Schalk Burger SA (SBSA) for 6 months.

 

Ettienne lectured Internal Auditing and marks for Financial Management and Auditing papers on a part-time basis for various universities. He is the head marker at Milpark for their Management Accounting and Finance courses, where various markers report to him. Throughout the year, Ettienne is involved in marking SAICA’s ITC, APT and APC exams. Ettienne delivers simulations for CA Trainees as well as exam assessment, evaluation and trainee feedback.
